According to evidence from clinical trials, the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is 95% effective at preventing laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 illness in people without evidence of previous infection.
Starting today, people over 65 years of age will be allowed to register for the Covid-19 vaccination in Georgia and make a choice between Pfizer and British AstraZeneca vaccines.
So far, more than 4,000 medical workers across the country have been vaccinated with the first doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine. The vaccine will initially be stored at the National Center for Disease Control, from where it will be distributed to vaccination centers.
