If you have three days in Armenia, here’s a proposed itinerary combining the capital city, a major lake, and the option of moving on to Georgia.
Day 1: Yerevan city tour
Start in the capital, Yerevan. Explore the city centre: the fountain-lit Republic Square, the great views from the Cascade Complex, and cultural sites such as the Genocide Memorial. Take time to enjoy cafés and local cuisine.
Tip: Take a leisurely pace, enjoy a rooftop café and soak up the city ambiance.
Day 2: Lake Sevan & surroundings
Spend the second day exploring a nature-oriented destination: head to Lake Sevan, one of the major lakes in Armenia. On the way or nearby you could include medieval monasteries, lake views, local lakeside dining.
You’ll experience a contrast to the city with serene nature and fresh air.
Day 3: Excursion + onwards to Georgia
On your final day you might visit a site such as Khor Virap Monastery (with striking views of Mount Ararat) or other historic monasteries located between Yerevan and the Georgian border. Afterwards: You have two options:
- Fly out directly from Yerevan Airport, or
- Take a transfer into Georgia (for example to Tbilisi) — en route you could plan a visit to a scenic stop or monastery / historic site in Georgia or along the border. This makes the transition smooth and adds value.
Summary Three days gives you a mix of urban, nature and historic/transfer day. It’s packed but doable. Adjust pace depending on your energy and interests.
