What the Insurance Must Cover
Under the Law of Georgia on Tourism, effective 1 January 2026, every foreign tourist entering Georgia must carry valid health and accident insurance covering their entire stay, including arrival and departure days. The minimum coverage required is 30,000 GEL, roughly equivalent to 10,000 euros. Your policy needs to be presentable in either Georgian or English, and it can be issued by a Georgian or a foreign insurer. When This Is Actually Checked Versus Rarely Checked
In practice, this is asked for far less often than the other documents on this list, especially for visa-free entrants with a clear, pre-booked itinerary. It tends to come up more for e-Visa or embassy-visa applications than at the airport itself. Children’s Own Passports
